About the Cottage

		Les Deserts, our beautifully restored cottage, is a haven of peace and tranquility, yet close to all the Normandy attractions. Situated on a hill overlooking the sleepy hamlet of St Christophe de Chaulieu.  The large open plan living room has exposed oak beams and feature granite fireplace with a log burner, comfy sofas, TV with surround sound and Satellite. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to make your stay more comfortable, there is a downstairs shower room with toilet. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. Bedroom one has a double bed and has a comfy sofa bed for a seventh person if required. The second is a twin with TV and Video, the third is also a double and has French doors with views of the valley. All are tastefully furnished and have plenty of storage space. Each bedroom also has a floor standing fan to keep you cool in the summer, and heaters for cooler evenings. There is also a toilet and hand basin upstairs..
Les Deserts stands in its own well maintained gardens and has beautiful views of the Normandy countryside and the neighboring pine forest. Outside, the south facing terrace has lovely views of the forest. It is a beautiful place to sit and relax, and maybe spot the wildlife such as Deer, red squirrels, hares and many different kinds of birds, and if you are lucky, wild boar. There is a gazebo with table and chairs, and barbeque and plenty of lights for dining alfresco. To cool off in the summer months, there is a plunge pool and sun-loungers, and for our younger guests, there is a sandpit, play equipment and a selection of garden games. Because Les Deserts is on the edge of 3 regions, Calvados, Orne and Manche, it is the perfect location for discovering all that Normandy has to offer. From the Mont St Michel, The D-Day beaches and museums, Villedie les poeles and Bayeux are all within easy reach from our cottage.
