Nearly 70 metres in length, the Bayeux Tapestry completed in
the 11th century, narrates simply, but in great detail the conquest of
England in 1066 by William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy.
Bayeux was the first town to be liberated in the French territories in June 1944.
