Le Mont Saint-Michel
|
Located approximately one kilometer off the north western coast of Normandy, the island has been the seat of the Saint-Michel monastery since the 8th century AD. Through the entrance of this medieval town is the main street with museums, shops and houses dating from the 15th and 16th century. Continue climbing upwards through the narrow streets to the steps leading to the Abbey. Enjoy the tranquil Cloister garden with a window looking out to sea. Once you have reached the summit of the Mount itself, views of the protected Baie de Mont-St-Michael from the very top of the Abbey are stunning. |
